Startrek.com is reporting that a unique new variation on Shakespeare, to be called An Enterprising Midsummer Night’s Dream, will be offered as part of the popular “Shakespeare in Branson Canyon” series this summer. It will star Scott Bakula as Oberon, Jolene Blalock as Titania, Connor Trinneer as Nick Bottom, Dominic Keating as Puck, John Billingsley as Peter Quince, Anthony Montgomery as Theseus, and Linda Park as Hippolyta. Fans greeted the news with mixed reactions, with some seeing this as affirming an Archer/T’Pol relationship, while others, particularly Trip/T’Pol fans, were incensed by the lack of dignity accorded Blalock and Trinneer. Still, some noted that Blalock and Trinneer still get all the hot bedroom scenes.

I laugh my head off with this April 2nd joke. You may want to know that on this side of the planet we have an little First April rhyme: "First April, frog in your butt." Translation of the cartoon: "But, doctor, it's already April 2nd and he is still there."

Now that's a head scratcher. I'd ask exactly how an intrarectal amphibian came to be associated with the first day of April in your country, panyasan (is it Denmark?), but I'm fairly certain that I don't want to know.

Panyasan is in the Netherlands. This is cross-cultural stuff that just doesn't translate well for me, either. Is there a pun we're not getting?

The rhyme is "Eén April - kikker in je bil"

Eén means 1, April is the month April.

April rhyms with bil - the Dutch word for buttock.

Kikker means frog - I don't why it in the rhyme, maybe because it's a funny word and frogs are funny animals.

in means in and je is the casual form for "your".

I can understand this can be confusion. I remember when they were talking in a movie about "a money coming out your butt" an image I didn't want to see.

Also reading fan fic has introduced me to the puzzling expression "when pigs fly". I got me thinking about pigs with wings.
