Who knows? A hundred years ago atomic energy was a fantasy, trains were the fastest things around and radio was new-fangled. Still a lot for us to learn I'm sure.

Putaro, in my lifetime there has been Desktop Computers, Cell Phones, lots of other electronic gadgets. None of which were even dreamed of when I was a lad.

Most of those things were fantasies when I was a lad. When you were a lad they hadn't invented dirt yet :-P

When I was a lad there were two things one could do with a telephone: Make and receive calls. TV was in its infancy and only broadcast in the New York area. Radio was the big thing until the early 50's. We had one station and had programs like Captain video, Tom Corbett Space Cadet; Cedil and Beniie featuring Cecil the SeaSick Sea Serpant. and, of course, "Uncle Milty" Station braodcast from four in the afternoon until 10 at night. Crude.

You knew how well of you were: if you had an Ice cream cone and the ball of Ice Cram fell of on to the dirt, if you were well off you walked back to the store and bought anther ball of icre Cream. If not you picked up the ball of Ice Cream you dropped, brushed off the dirt and continued to eat. Poor people thought a little dirt in the diet was good for one.
