Here's one I wrote a filk to a while back. Here's the song, but the lyrics don't fit except for the "Breathe" part, so I wrote new ones. Here are my new lyrics. Just use your imagination.

But the one that always gets an "OMG PERFECT" out of me is Gordon Lightfoot's If You Could Read My Mind. The movie references, the inability to walk away/difficulty with doing so, acting in a way you never thought you would, discussion of mind reading...there's even a reference to Koss as "enter number two."

Those lyrics sound very much like they could have been written by one of the teenagers I see at work. Fortunately, due to experiences like these, by the time they reach adulthood most of them have learned that not even "true love" is worth killing yourself over.

Distracted, suicide is not really what those lyrics are about. I admit that although I tried hard to keep it close to the original text, some sentiments don't translate. When a Russian says "my life is over" or "my song is sung" it is meant to say "I stop living, now I only exist."
