Word prompt challenges in the future...

Postby Kotik » Thu Oct 28, 2010 5:22 pm

As it looks, Aquarius has moved her word prompts to her own site, so we're left with a bit of a conondrum about what we do now. Obviously we sort of lost the month of October, but what shall we do with the coming months?

My suggestion would be a round robin thing. Each month another forum member - on the prerequirement that she/he contributed to the challenge of the month before - is nominated to give the word. What do you think ?

I think having to nominate and find someone each month is fairly cumbersome for a simple responsibility like that. Is there someone out there who'd like to take on this baby?

I'm probably not best since I've only written to a prompt here once or twice.

On the other hand, I do assign writing prompts for a living at this point, so I'm fine doing it if nobody else wants to.

Whoever it is should probably be a good do-bee and look and see what's already been done. (I didn't do that.)

Alelou, are you saying that who ever takes over should go look at all the past word prompts to avoid repetion? Lot of research.

You have been on this board for a fairly long time so you are familiar with the Prompts and you do it for a living. SOOOO. RL shouldn't be a factor as it would only take a short time ot come up with a word.

Hell, ask for volunteers and if none come forward and you cannot do it. I (gulp) will.

@Silverbullet

Not much research involved. The wordprompts from 2008 and 2009 are listed in a sticky thread in this forum, so it's only 9 to find from this year.

It's not really that much research. You just read the prompts in this one thread, as Kotik points out. I could handle that (depending on my workload that day, anyway).

But if someone out there would like to take on this monthly duty, please ... just raise your hand.

I'd be willing to do it. But if someone would like it more, I'll be the first to step aside. :)
