I'm straight and female I don't like glee. But not because of the musical part, I object to everything else.

I'm a straight male and I don't hate glee.

But then, I've no idea what glee is...

Actually, I have been toying with the idea of doing a cross over of TnT and doctor Who. Not the newest ugly guy, but with the cutie (my favorite Doctor). Also with Lie to me, a favorite show of mine, but that would be hard to put off. Just saw a sfi movie about humans taking drugs to have no emotions. I thought that movie would provide an interesting conversation between Trip and T'Pol.

Glee is feeling mighty good about yourself, isn't? So glee in a musical would be "over the top happiness and smiles?" Just a guess.

I haven't personally seen the show "Glee," but I assume it's a reference to that venerable high school institution, the Glee Club.

You can watch episodes at hulu or at Fox if you are interested.

Just as The Vampire Diaries appears on TV to pander to the Twilight crowd, it's possible Glee is trying to attract the High School Musical audience.

For those who haven't seen it, Glee is a show about a high school glee club, and it contains lots of singing and dance numbers. It's a big cult hit, but I find the tone of it kind of shrill. It definitely got made in the wake of the success of High School Musical. My opinion, however is best on half of the first episode and about ten minutes of another episode when I tried to give it another chance.

I miss the appeal of 'Glee'. The characters all seem to be way way over the top stereotypical portrayals that I would think most groups would find embarrassing, but the kids seem to like it. Vampire Diaries I like better than Twilight. Mostly I think because it has been able to develop the characters and relationships better on a weekly TV show than they can in a movie.

Musicals on TV shows can work if done right but I didn't trust the writers enough to be able to do it successfully. A Dr. Who crossover might have worked but only if the Brits had more control over the story. Americans writing Dr. Who I think would be a disaster. We suck for the most part at taking British shows and trying to Americanize them. Dr. Who is my all time fav sci-fi show, from the first doctor on, and I'd hate to have seen them butcher it.

I think the plan was to do a two part crossover - where one episode was produced, written and shot primarily on the ENT set and then the other would be produced, written and shot on the Doctor Who set - with the writers collaborating on the basic story. I don't know if they ever got around to even brainstorming ideas about what that story would be.

Interesting idea but I'd have been cautiously optimistic about the Enterprise writers doing well. I would have watched it but I don't usually like crossover shows. They usually end up being self grandizing shows trying to up the ratings of one or both shows and lack good stories.

I was in England when the first Dr. Who premired. It was Dr. Who and the Daleks (sp) The Dr. was played by an older actor. I don't rember it being much of a hit then. I wasn't really wtaching Scifi at the time. Usually Watching Live stage shows.

It was more of a hit later. I've seen all the available episodes and see the basis for many ideas for many sci-fi shows/movies in this series. It's been around so long it makes sense that it had all the good ideas for villains etc... first.

I was in England in 1965 when it started so it has been around for a while. there was also a Puppet Sciefi series called the Thunderbirds (I believe) that was fairly popular then.

Brits have always done TV better than Americans. all in the Family ws "til Death do us Part" and was very good don't belive that many things on it could have been shown i the U.S. until when All in the family started. also, Sanford and Son was "Steptoe and son" in England. the British show concerned the old man wanting some Crumpet and the son getting too much which drove the old guy nuts. Not at all like Sanford and son here.

Could have been a good Malcolm centric episode. I can't believe how little good sci-fi there is to watch. Makes me miss Enterprise even more. There's a whole Sci-fi network and for the most part it's pathetic reruns and weirdness that isn't watchable. Merlin and Eureka and an occasional movie are about all I watch except Trek reruns and those are mostly on other stations.
