I haven't read Rigil Kent's stuff yet. I wanted to get past the Romulan War in my universe before I read his version of it, to avoid any unconscious cross-pollination.

I just want to say that Blackn'blue turns Hess into a rather wonderful villain in Payment. That is all.

Is she really a villain? More a rival, isn't she? We can sympathize with her motivation -- or at least I can!

I don't know. It seems boring, but I see Anna (yes, I latched on to it too...but it fits the character i've fleshed her out as) being a sweet woman with a great deal of respect for Trip, as I imagine most of his people have for him. Can you really see anyone hating Trip? (Well, besides Kelby, but he was on Orion phermones at the time) He was the character in that series I related most to...the naive, gentlemanly guy with a good heart and good intentions.

I must say that I hated the Mirror Universe episodes in all series, especially "In A Mirror, Darkly". First of all it was a waste of two episodes and second I didn't like the idea of T'Pol as a manipulative bitch or Trip's behaviour as it was shown on screen.

I hated those episodes too, but BnB and Rigil Kent have definitely made interesting hay with them. Others too, though it's not coming to mind.

I don't mind the MU except I hated ho-Hoshi and the fact that she took up with socio-Travis. Personally though I liked the ancient decadent Imperial Roman intrigue thing going on. If they had cut down on the kitch and made it more serious I could have really gotten into it.

I like the MU for what it is, but I agree that the TnT relationship was a little twisted for my taste. I would have like to see them still in love but say, more like Spike & Drusilla or something.

I'm not sure they weren't in love just both products of circumstance. Anyway back to Hess, I think the reason I picture her as very petite is because SOMEBODY has to crawl around the jefferies tubes routinely for matinence.
