It seems women in high positions on Vulcan get pretty headgear. Kind of like ancien Greece/Rome. I watched Galdiator on TV the other night (waste of time) but I loved the bling and kept thinking T'Pau T'Lar and those Vulcan dames would LOVE this. I saw something Sarek might like too.

Okay I appologize for bringing back a dead thread, however it's 3AM and I am bored out of my skull. So I was reading some West Wing fic, and the author had an idea for puzzle rings used as wedding bands. Now I thought I knew a lot about jewelry, I collect it, and my paternal grandmother has an abnormal obsession, but I've never seen a puzzle ring before. Thankfully the author of the fic provided a link to a company that makes puzzle rings. And just looking at the asthetic I'm seeing a red desert and a red sky... Vulcans would LOVE these rings. Men and women both.

I saw those puzzle rings for sale at a Renaissance Festival just a few weeks ago, and I had the same thought as you! T'Pol would probably find one quite intriguing, especially if Trip was the one who made it. Then I noticed the little sign that explained the origin of the rings. It explained that they were originally used by a Sultan somewhere who made all of the women in his harem wear them. If a woman took the ring off to try to pass as a single woman to have an affair, she would be unable to put the ring back together and he would catch her infidelity. Somehow, though I doubt the authenticity of that explanation, I don't think T'Pol would be amused if Trip gave her an anti-cheating ring.
