Vulcan rapper, hmm. Not sure, I think that some Vulcans would find the structure of rap facinating but barbaric as an art form. I don't share that opinion, there are some Rap and R&B I think are quite uplifting. But the bling styles have A LOT in common... Huge stones, intricate and geometric designes, very colorful. It is quite facinating.

Well, usually when I explain my humor it falls flat, but here we go any way:

Trip's initiation to T'Pol's Vulcan "gang" is beginning:

GANG SIGNS: Gang members often use finger gestures to show their affiliation with their gang. Since we're talking about Vulcan rappers, I'm drawing a parallel between the Vulcan greeting and a gang sign.

COLORS: Gangs wear specific colors to show their affiliation. The two most notorious gangs, the Crips and Bloods, wear blue and red, respectively. In this picture, T'Pol and her mother have this pink/purple thing going on...Trip is wearing white. He's too much of a noob to realize he should be wearing what they're wearing. His colors need work.

WORD TO T'POL'S MUTHA: Though many outside the inner city mistakenly believe this really refers to someone's mom, it's actually referring to the "Mother Land"--as in Africa. It's about paying respect to where one came from. Here it serves a dual meaning: T'Pol's mom is right there, and they're visiting her Mother Land.

REPRESENTIN': That's what you're doing when you're wearing the right colors, flashing the correct signs, and speaking the language of your gang: you are doing what represents them.



Now that I think about this, it brings to mind a question: just HOW is Trip going to get "jumped in" to this gang???

That's not what I had in mind--It's BETTER than I had in mind! A scaled down version of the Jefferson wheel cipher, how cool is that? Trip would be fascinated by it, as well as T'Pol. If my TnT didn't already have rings, that's the one I'd get them.

Uplifting rap? So far that has managed to elude me. The only rap I've heard is borderline sociopathic; of course, I haven't actually gone in search of uplifting rap. There is just so much other uplifting music that I don't have to expend any effort to dig up.

Janeway would kick Picard's and Cisco's butts in a fight. Probably Archer's, too. She was tough as nails. So there!

Vulcan gangs? I don't know about signs, colors and bling. I think Vulcan gangs would be organized more along the lines of the Mafia, complete with extreme loyalty to the family and a code of honor. Imagine you are there as the sinister Vulcan hit-man strolls into a small cafe, resplendent in his black suit and white tie; his features obscured by the hat with the brim pulled down low. A violin case is clutched in one hand as his expressionless eyes seek out the owner of the business.
"Nice little cafe you have here," he says, in an agreeable tone, "It would be too bad if something were to happen to it..."
