It's not for everyone but it's a handy hobby (if you can read and write that is). It works even in very analogue conditions; pen and paper works too.

Misplaced wrote:Alright peeps. NaNoWriMo is a bust for me. But I'm still grateful for the experience as I learned tons and I have some great new ideas for my novel that I'll be putting into action now.

What does this mean? This means that at this very moment I'm writing the conclusion to "Unexpected Too" and as soon it's off to my lovely betas, I will be focused on banging out a few more chapters of "Dark Echoes" so I feel comfortable with releasing it. :)

Mmkay. Back to the salt-mines.

I finished my Harbinger story a couple of days ago and submitted it to TRIS. The fic is from T'Pols point of view. I had a scene from Trips POV, but my beta suggested I would use that scene for a sequel. I wanted people to know about Trips POV and I liked the scene, but I mostly follow advice a beta gives me - so you have to wait for the sequel to get Trips POV, And I still want to write that second chapter of World of Ice. But right now I am moving, so no time to write. And off line for a couple of days. A couple of days without checking this site... how do I survive? ;-)

Alright... the final chapter and epilogue to "Unexpected Too" are complete and after one finally glance from me they will be off to my fantabulous betas. Phew!

Now onto "Dark Echoes"... Prologue and the first two chapters are complete (this one takes a little more out of me being all action-y and espionage-y and Mirror Universe conniving-y :raspberry: ) I'd like to get probably two or three more chapters in before I start releasing it. Fortunately, I've got a rough outline, so it shouldn't be too hard pound something out. ;)

I also have a plot bunny for a short story about Trip and a tattoo. :vulcan: Dunno when that will turn up.

Anyway... there's the skinny. I'm going to bed (very, very late) now.

Thanks, Reanok. Though, if you haven't read Reflections of Another Universe yet -- you'll have to start there, since Dark Echoes is the sequel to that story. ;)

I'm sorry NaNoWritMo was a bust for you, Misplaced. Does that mean you did not finish the 50,000 words? It was not really a bust if you learned something from it, though! When I did it two years ago, I managed to do 50,000 words but the result was not worth much. All it taught me was that I DID have the discipline to write that many words in a month but that most of it was likely to be crap, LOL. I am glad you are back to writing fanfic!
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Yes, I didn't make 50K -- just under half. I did have an illness put me out for a couple of weeks, though... so it wasn't all laziness on my part. :p And definitely what I did manage to write is not fit for reader consumption. But it definitely got the creative juices flowing on original work, so it was worth it. I'll most likely participate again next year. :)

All right, the final chapter and epilogue for "Unexpected Too" are now in the hands of my incredible betas. Starting another chapter of "Dark Echoes" today.

Hi, even though I'm not a regular story poster, I'm going to be helping out Elessar with story posting this week because he has a heavy schedule at school. If you have a story waiting in the inbox, please send it to me, justTripn by PM attachment. Thanks.

Speaking of Stories. JT and I have to drop the story we started about ARcher, Trip and Malcom being charged with murder and piracy for stealing the warp coil and stranding the aliens with only impulse engines making their journey home years long.

We regret having to do this. Forgive us. My Eyes and JT's work load and home life apparently is a problem too.

 "Heavy schedule". Please. Applied aerospace engineering is a pretty soft option if you ask me.
