Jolene Blalock gets recurring role in Legend of the seeker

Postby Reanok » Tue Oct 13, 2009 12:13 am

Trekweb has a story announcing that Jolene has landed a recuring role as a mysterious Sister of the dark a very powerful sorceress who posses very powerful magic and will stop at nothing to stop Richard(Craig Horner) in his quest to defeat evil forces and her ultimate goal is to destroy Kahlen(Bridget Regan) I think it's nice to see her having a regular role in a tv series series.Legend of the Seeker second season returns Nov 7 in syndication.

The part JB is playing in Legend of the Seeker is Sister Nicci. Apparently, Nicci is a pretty important character in the books - so if the series continues and stays at all close to the books, she'll be there for awhile. It will definitely be more than her quiet performance on House last night.

I think if you read the summaries online, you'll be fine. There was even a video posted somewhere, produced by the show, to catch people up on what happened in the first season.

If you read the LoS message boards, apparently this season has kicked into high gear and is really good. Its fans are quite devoted. And since its in syndication, not on a failing network with idiot executives that expect high ratings for a niche show, LoS may very well be around for awhile.

Good news. I found this show by accident last month and downloaded first season to watch before 2 started. It's not great but it's not bad. Better than most of the broadcast stations new season fare. Seems to rip off alot of other sci-fi plots but its not horrible. At least it doesn't suffer from trying to be overly humorous like Xena and Hercules did. From what I've read the show doesn't follow the books closely at all but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. People either hate the book series, calling them juvenile and accusing Goodkind of plagiarizing others work or they love them without reservation. But it does appear that JB will have a recurring role and be around for a while. Let's hope it' s a sign that CT will break through and get a TV show like many other ST alumni seem to be doing lately.

So she's a Mord Sith? What's a "Dark Sister"?

She's playing a character called Nicci. Apparently, she's important in the books - a villain. I haven't read the books so I can't speak to how the show is different from the books.

Strange news from the fansite of "Legend of The Seeker"

http://forums.legendoftheseeker.org/sho ... php?t=1298
Jolene Blalock has been all but officially confirmed as Sister of the Dark Nicci and if the released casting sides are correct, will appear as early as episode 9 but I've just found this additional casting call for episode 13...

[SISTER NICCI] - 20's.. Breathtakingly beautiful, alluring, brilliant and ultimately amoral. Nicci is a Sister of the Dark in disguise, hoping she can manipulate Richard (Craig Horner). RECURRING

An official press-release in October stated that Jolene was in New Zealand and about to start filming her recurring role as a 'mysterious Sister of the Dark' - currently they have only just started filming episode 12 !?!
Hmmmmm.

here is a late additional episode 13 casting call for a Sister Nicci...

[SISTER NICCI] - 20's.. Breathtakingly beautiful, alluring, brilliant and ultimately amoral. Nicci is a Sister of the Dark in disguise, hoping she can manipulate Richard (Craig Horner). RECURRING

This is a strange one mainly because Jolene Blalock has been all but officially confirmed as Nicci and an official press release stated that she was due to start filming her recurring role as a 'mysterious Sister of the Dark' during the week of October 12th. Previously released casting sides put Nicci in episode 9 [ 2.09 CASTING SIDES ]

They are currently filming the Michael Hurst directed episode 12 with guest star Ted Raimi.

This begs the question, why are they now looking for a Sister Nicci for episode 13 ?!

Sometimes I forget that these are spoilers, although they're generally correct but...

Have they changed the episode order ?
Have they decided to introduce Nicci later ?
Jolene Blalock isn't playing Nicci ?
JB as rumoured was Nicci but for some reason they decided to recast after 4 episodes ?

At this point it seems that...
Jolene Blalock was Nicci but they've decided to recast !
OR
JB never was Nicci and they've decided to introduce her later!
OR
This could all be a load of misleading bull.

All speculation - guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yes they have put out an additional casting call for Nicci for episode 13 - as I've posted on the homepage it's a bit of a mystery, Nicci was due to appear in episode 9 and Jolene Blalock was all but confirmed and due to start filming mid October. Bridget and Craig have also mentioned Jolene in interviews. We'll just have to wait and see, personally I think she would be a good Nicci (and I'm not a big Star Trek fanboy).
Please don't forget these are all spoilers fed from somewhere so we can't really be certain unless it's been officially confirmed.

I wonder why they chose to recast the role after Jolene was confirmed very odd. With all the publicity Jolene got too bad if the news is true.i was looking forward to see her in another tv series.
