"Enterprise: The Romulan War"

Okay. I get that but what about the actual story? You know the WAR, How is it going? Oh and are the bad guys interesting, I'm not going to bother without really freaky bad guys.

I thought the books were boring. The Good that Men Do was best of the three but I didn't like the writing it seemed lightweight. This new one only had one author so I'm hopeful he wasn't responsible for the majority of the writing in the previous books. I wouldn't spend money on the previous books and only skimmed most of the book and only read the TnT parts in the last book but there wasn't much there. Like the books as it gives me canon that fixes the *the_abomination* fiasco. I really hope they manage to do the Romulan War justice. It would be nice to have a solid attempt at bridging the gap between the Enterprise and Pike/Kirk eras.

The only part I really liked of Last Full Measure is the begining and end piece where we find out Trip is alive in the 23rd century and has major clues as to certain events in future Enterprise books.I enjoyed reading The Good That Men do and Kobayashi Maru.I'm just glad they're continuing the story of what happened to the Enterprise crew and Trip & T'Pol's story is continuing and what happens with the Romulan war is what I'm most intersted in seeing how events unfold.Thenext book in the Romulan series won't be coming out until 2011.That's a long time to wait for the next book to come out.Margaret Clark said in an interview she wanted the books to bridge the gap between the Enterprise series history the Founding of the Federation to the era of Pike & Kirk that we would get to see how Starships and technology would change.Admiral Valdore is one rutheless ambitious villian from season 4 that was well written in the books one among many Romulans politicians and military sceintists with plots and counterplots.To gain power in the Romulan empire at any cost.Valdore wants revenge on certain Romulan politicians in Kobayashi Maru near the end of the book.

I haven't read a lot of them. Friend of mine is a fanatic sci fi collector so when he offered to send the disks with these and the complete avi files of Enterprise I said great. Figure they'll be around later when I don't have anything else to do but go back and read them. I'm sure there are members here that have read them. Any suggestions for WG out there?

I seem to recall really liking Strangers from the Sky in the TOS category. I tend to remember more from the authors, though. I used to read anything by Barbara Hambly or Peter David, before I petered out on this stuff -- fortunately, since judging from the list, it would have cost a fortune and taken up years of my life....

I'll confess in my teenage years I also really enjoyed Alan Dean Foster's novelizations of the animated series. They just got longer and longer, and he did stuff with M'Ress that was really fun. I ended up reading his own stuff for awhile after that.

I read the review on TrekBBS and was worried there would be nothing about TnT, I feel much better now!

Just scanned/read through my pdf copy of the book. TnT didn't get together and aren't seriously a part of the story until page 377 and then longer section starts in the 380's. After that they are separated again. There are 442 pages in the whole book.

I liked parts of it but found the whole Vulcan thing tedious. I don't find the reasoning for it to be credible.
