Hey, in what book universe does Spock marry Saavik? (And is it any good?)

Screwed up Surak or not T'Pol denied alot. Alelou's right. To be Vulcan is to deny emotions. You suppress them and profess to the world they don't exist. You'll never convince me that Vulcans don't experience fear. They have to be afraid of something if only that they'll lose control but they say they don't.

Is book universe canon?

I think it's called Vulcan Soul. You know what PM Linda she'd know, I've never read it. I always thought she loved David Kirk, and well... I didn't take to well to her marrying Spock even if it wasn't canon. Oh come on when a 6 year old decides something she doesn't want to have that dashed when she grows up.

OK I've said it before that Vulcan english screws up here they don't mean they don't have emotions they mean they don't deal with them like us. I really think looking up Surak would make this clear. No the book isn't canon.

If I recall, Saavik married Spock because "helping" teenage neo-Spock through first Ponfarr left her pregnant. She was Spock's protege to begin with, and had great affection for him. Her fling with David was mostly sex, but she was fond of him, too. At that point he was dead, though. Once Spock's katra was returned to his body he understandably felt responsible for her condition and he proposed. She's carrying his genetic offspring and she likes him so she says yes. Very logical.

Doesn't mean I have to like it though. But boy talk about a soap opera. Come to think of it a Vulcan soap opera is just a hysterical concept. OK Someone is going to yell at me for going off topic. In my defense it wasn't completely my fault. So favorite scene... Do they have to be TnT? Because I have others.

The Book is called Vulcan's Heart and Saavik was not pregnant in the book and when she and Spock got married was after the time of The movie Star trek Generations.They were married as consenting adults. I thought the book was quite good.The Vulcan soul 3 book Trilogy follows up Vulcan's heart.For those of us who are David/Saavik fans there's a story in the Alternate Universe Echoes and refractions. where we get to see Daid Marcus& Saavik's relationship is explored in depth. The Chimes of Midnight by Geoff Trowbridge In the story David doesn't die on the Genesis Planet and Spock isn't in the story.He died as a child mentioned in the Animated series.Saavik and David are together at the end of the story.I really thought it wa swell written an good look at what might happen in the AU.
