...or, specifically: how big are the senior officers' quarters? Like as in square feet, or this many feet by that many feet...or whatever the metric equivalent is.
Thanks.

Re: Crew quarters question
Very cool!
Unfortunately I'm pretty spatially challenged and couldn't figure out the scale on the diagram. I was never good at that kind of stuff. (And I'm from hell when it comes to reading a map...turn here/go there directions, I'm fine!)
Any place that just tells you this kind of stuff? Maybe after dinner I'll start with Memory Alpha and work from there...

Re: Crew quarters question
From what I could gather from Elessar's link they are about ten by twenty feet, though none of them are square. Say about 250 sqft.
(In metres, which they seem to be using by then, 3 m by 6 m and 22 sqm).
This is just an estimate, though, because the quarters which are best aligned with the grid are located in the middle (thus farthest away from the grid). Also, these are the smallest quarters, other quarters are slightly larger (about 20% extra surface I'd estimate).

Sweet! Thanks, Buurman! A close estimate will do just fine.
Now here's another stupid question: how high do you suppose the walls are?

You could probably guess pretty close by just watching some episodes and looking at Trip as he walks in the door and knowing he's about 5'11. It wouldn't be unusual for them to be lower than conventional ceilings, given the limited space.

Re: Crew quarters question
Don't you ever wonder how often Bakula pounded his head on the beams in that ready room set?
And how they all didn't trip over those doorway lips all the time boggles my mind too.
Ergonomically that ship is a disaster. I guess subs are like that too, though.

That's not even counting the dreadful spinal (dis)alignment that T'Pol's scanner at her station would promote.Alelou wrote:Ergonomically that ship is a disaster. I guess subs are like that too, though.
