And, most importantly, the idea of T'Pol having sex with an Andorian is gross.
But then, I'm not keen on her being with anyone but Trip (and vice versa) so...

Well though I'm sure you'd be keen on her being with you if that was posible.

Honestly? I don't think so. Simply based on what I saw in four years on Enterprise, she's waaaaaaaaay too high maintenance for me. It'd be over after Harbinger and her "thanks for scratching that itch" comment. I'd go look up Amanda Cole, who didn't hide what she wanted or speak in stupid riddles or any of the other crap that T'Pol pulled on Trip.

I found the actress quite attractive, thank you very much. And she was at least honest in her dealings with Trip which, unfortunately, can't be said of T'Pol.

Uhhh... okay... if you say so. You can have her. As long as Trip gets his Polly

Just telling it like it is. There is absolutely no way I could deal with a relationship as thoroughly fraked up as the one Trip had with T'Pol. It's so horribly dysfunctional at times, that it makes me shake my head in disgust at the shoddy writing that made it so.

And yet you can't see either of them in a relationship with anyone else.

Mostly because of the potential the relationship had (if it had been written correctly in the first place) and because of the chemistry I perceived between the actors portraying the role.

^ I think if they continued with the series they would have been P/T all over again. I'm glad the show got cancelled when it did.

Agreed
It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

In this story, Trip has been dead for nearly two years. T'Pol doesn't want to have sex with an virtually anonymous Andorian, but then the only other viable option is a painful, humiliating death. Ideally she would prefer not to have sex with anyone, to focus on her career in Star Fleet, and her friendships there, while continuing to heal as best she can from her many losses.Rigil Kent wrote:And, most importantly, the idea of T'Pol having sex with an Andorian is gross.

Her body however, is going into pon farr. It doesn't give a rodent's butt what she wants and needs emotionally. In this story, T'Pol is only trying to save her own life with, as much dignity as possible. Shran is the only non-Vulcan or non-Human that she knows well enough, and whom she knows is generally honorable, that she can go to with this. She figures an anonymous Andorian, who Shran trusts (won't take advantage of her situation and kill her in her weakened state) is completely genetically incompatible (again, my analysis of the situation, not cannon), yet strong enough not to endure serious damage from the couplings, and who is descrete and understands what he is getting into, is her best bet. She's unlikely to ever see the guy again, and after the pon farr is resolved, she can take a few showers, meditate the incident into the farthest, least visited portion of her memory, and return to her life without complication. The story is titled 'A Hard Bargain' for a reason. There is no good outcome, only different levels of unpleasantness and misery.
Re: A Hard Bargain: A COMPLETED TnT Story
That's my point. The appendix is older than human sentience, as pon farr is almost certainly older than Vulcan logic. Both are throw backs from a time when both species needed them, but haven't yet been completely bred out.T'Poptarts wrote:But evolution takes like way longer than 2000 years
