Re: Writing

I'm finally home and have access to my computer. Here are some highlights from "Writing 20 Minutes a Day" workshop I attended. - Commit to writing 20 minutes a day (not counting research). Set a timer and keep writing until it goes off. Hopefully over time you'll start writing for longer p...

Re: Writing

Eireann, I'm guilty of not reviewing as often as I should. RS isn't my most preferred ship, but I do enjoy many Malcolm-centric stories (RS or gen), especially yours. 73Bruin, Like most authors, I really appreciate reviews and I don't see any problem with admins reviewing. I think it's great to get ...

Re: New Fanfic Submissions: 2015 Edition

I really enjoyed reading the chapter, but I think I'll enjoy it even more when I read it again from the beginning.

Re: Writing

I'm visiting my brother in Florida and won't be home for a couple of days after what we originally planned. When I was packing, it didn't occur to me to put my workshop notes where I could access them from my iPad. I'll post a summary when I get home. I'd be happy to be an accountability partner wit...

Re: The Whine thread.

I think I need to stop going to Florida for Thanksgiving. Last year I broke my ankle right before we were supposed to leave. This year my significant other and I drove down . We had a nice Thanksgiving with my brother and sister-in-law. We were planning to head home today, but yesterday morning my S...

Re: Writing

I'm trying to get into the habit of writing every day. I went to a workshop at The Writers' Center a few weeks ago entitled "Writing 20 Minutes a Day." The instructor gave us several suggestions that I've found very helpful. I've been writing most days, sometimes for more than 20 minutes (...

Re: The Whine thread.

Hope you're feeling much better. I had a hysterectomy several years ago. It went well, but it was still a lot to go through. An abscess would be sure to make it a lot harder. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Randomness

Happy Halloween! Did anyone wear a Star Trek costume to a Halloween party? I dug out an old Next Generation uniform and went to our clinic's Halloween party as Dr. Beverly Crusher. I didn't win one of the prizes, but I got a lot of smiles and nice comments. I'd like to get an Enterprise uniform for ...

Re: Randomness

I'm enjoying a short stay-cation. Yesterday we went to the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum. I'd never been to their observatory. I was surprised that I could see Venus through the telescope at noon on a very sunny day. While I was there, I picked up a flyer on citizen science projects in astronom...

Eirann was kind enough to agree to beta for me, so I'm no longer looking for a beta for this one.

Re: Need a Beta Reader? Post Here!

I'm looking for a beta for a story (actually a missing scene) which is about 2300 words. It's PG.

Re: Because I am too lazy to research it...

I'm working on a missing scene for "The Expanse." I'm trying to make sure my timeline fits into the episode. I've looked at a script, at the entry in Memory Alpha and at the novelization of the episode. All I've figured out is that Archer makes a log entry about their return trip to Earth ...

Shore Leave

Would anyone happen to be going to Shore Leave? It's a fan-run con in Hunt Valley, MD this weekend.

Re: The Whine thread.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and good wishes. My mother died while I was in Florida. We were able to take her home and let her die in her grandmother's bed. She would have been 96 next month - a long life with many joys and that touched many people. I miss her, but I really couldn't have as...
