Re: Three stages of bigotry displayed in Enterprise
Interesting. I think ideologically, the Vulcans at the beginning of the series were right where they should be: Give the their technology up to the noobs? Hell no. Not until they grow up! I agree. The only thing that made the Vulcans seem wrong is the fact that tptb (media, ppl @ top) made them appe...

Re: Polly Farr and season V?
Thanks KTR. I've always thought since Voyager came out with "blood fever" that females only enter it when triggered by a male. The idea does jive with "Amok Time" when Spock said, ...they would BOTH be drawn to Koon ut Kali Fee. The age thing tho... Spock's age was never really m...

Re: Abrams Trek
I still, after all this time, find it hilarious that Spock/Uhura 'shippers have no idea what Pon Farr is. They don't ? :vulcan: Admittedly, I haven't been keeping up with Abrams Trek, aside from having seen each film, but only just once each. I hold no interest in that alternative Trek. I've lurked...

Re: Trek's worst couples
Spock/Uhura put the nail in the coffin of my love for classic Trek. Why why why why why did they ever think that was ok? And Kira/Odo.... I'm still trying to wrap my head around why a being who, in his most natural state is a bucket of goop, would want to "do it" with a humanoid. And then ...

Three stages of bigotry displayed in Enterprise
After a fresh rewatch of the series I noticed three stages of bigotry displayed by 3 different characters. These are my observations and theories that were notes in my writing journal so do with them what you will. I'm posting them only to help spark ideas for other fanfic writers. 1) Irrational/pri...

Trek's worst couples
Valentines day is coming up. We've got a poll on startrek.com for the "best couple" so here I thought it'd be fun to vote for the worst couple
I now it's a tough choice so I opened up the poll for 2 options per person.

Re: Need a Beta Reader? Post Here!
To an extent. It depends on how smart the people looking for them are. I believe a cloaked vessile can still cause a distortion, still put out exhaust, and cannot fire while cloaked (unless it's really advanced).

I'm not going to lie. I might've voted for Kirk if it said "Zombie Edith Keeler" instead.

Re: Trip's Parents
KTR, great to see you again! anyhow, that's a valid theory anout Trip and Archer but... From Strange New World "That's something Mister Velik used to say. Tenth grade biology class. He was a Vulcan scientist (who came to teach us about life on other worlds. I'd never seen a Vulcan before, not u...

Re: Polly Farr and season V?
Well my view on "canon" is that anyone with an imagination can write themselves out of the beliefs widely held by the majority of fans. As far as Pon Farr is concerned, it was said in Star Trek III "Vulcan males must endure it every seventh year of their adult life." But as a fan...

Re: Trip's Parents
Agreed on everything you guys said about a loving home, very intelligent, maybe even academic. But I really can't ignore the episode "Strange New World" or even what Trip said about himself in Terra Prime: "You know, I never used to like Vulcans all that much myself. They always seeme...

Re: Polly Farr and season V?
Season V and Polly Farr? - I sure hope not. Also because we all know Pon Farr is a male condition and only with a virus or when a woman meets her "man" can see develop Pon Farr... ;-) I don't think B&B ever GAF about canon since Roddenberry told them to think of TOS as apochyphal when...

Re: Need a Beta Reader? Post Here!
Hi, Question: I am totally not technical. I am writing a story in which Trip and T"Pol escape from a very advanced ship, flying away with a shuttle. This shuttle can be fully cloaked. They escape by getting under the ship and hide there, because it's the last place people would look. But I won...
