Re: Fancy meeting YOU here!

Watching Criminal Minds (the Wil Wheaton as a modern couples-hating Norman Bates-alike one), and hey, Lorian's playing the local police captain or sheriff or whatever! Neat! ...what's really wacky is that I've been rewatching Enterprise lately, and the episode running on my computer (legally! just F...

Re: Fix Enterprise "canon" with a drabble challenge

Good one! LOL And by the way, I'm actually a very nice person. I just don't do well with irrationality. And I say this knowing I myself can be irrational. It irritates the heck out of me. I'm one of those people that believes everything has a reason. In the words of Babylon 5's Marcus Cole: "I...

Re: Fix Enterprise "canon" with a drabble challenge

Okay, another one. I stare at her. ”Forget it.” Hell, even when she's telling me I'm a guinea pig she's adorable. ”I'd appreciate it if we could keep this between us. In fact, we probably should forget it ever happened.” She thinks about it for all of two seconds, then nods. ”Agreed.” ”Doesn't mean ...

Oh, yes.

Also, Sweden's system is Sweden's, Norway's is Norway's, Germany's is Germany's and so on. There is no unified European justice system, since we're all separate countries.

Re: CX anime reviews

I've seen the various arguments for Evangelion, but really what it comes down to is that everything still adds up to the characters being completely unlikable to the point that watching the show became a chore. At least the movies have been a little better so far. Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you t...

Re: CX anime reviews

A few thoughts... The Melancholy Of... is actually meant as a bit of deconstruction of the more typical anime romantic harem comedy, which usually has a sci-fi theme. It asks a few questions, those being: if you *actually* gave the power of omnipotence to someone, would that someone be a nice person...

Re: Fix Enterprise "canon" with a drabble challenge

Okay I'm confused, is this a fixing "canon" challenge or just "screw *the_abomination*" because so far all of these are *the_abomination* fixes. Doesn't anyone want to fix The Communicator or that crappy Borg episode. And we do realize these aren't technically drabbles? Just che...

Re: Fix Enterprise "canon" with a drabble challenge

Hmmm. Okay, two short ones. T'Pol opened her eyes, and found that instead of being primly seated in a meditative pose, she was in the somewhat undignified pose of face first on one of her pillows, arms parallel to her torso, buttocks raised high in the air. The shower was running. She frowned, then ...

Re: CX Reviews

Yeah, but how does rock get it from the sun, and how do you get it out of the rock? Heck, I'm not a scientist, I just know Helium-3 is necessary for fusion to be viable. :) And I know it only because I am a nerd who played many science fiction roleplaying games (pen and paper, not them newfangled v...

Re: How important is Star Trek "canon" to you?

Of course, for it to be a perfect "Dallas" ending it has to be T'Pol's dream, and she wakes up to find Trip in the shower.

...I am not ashamed that I know that detail. I grew up in the 80's. :shifty:

Re: CX Reviews

One thing: Helium-3 is already the magical fuel, we just don't have any down here. It's the best fuel for fusion, see. If we had larger quantities of it down here, we might actually see clean, safe energy within our lifetimes.

But we don't.

So we can't.

Re: YouTubes You Just Have to Share With the World...

Just some random stuff I'd like to share that I found at various points and find fascinating in some form or fashion: Something beautiful... Something that started a lot of what we fans now know and love (and without which we might never have had Trip and T'Pol in the first place, though Trip is Flo...

Re: Calling All Cooks

Sounds painful. :-p I know you're kidding, but cayenne isn't that kind of hot. Chili is, cayenne actually helps *settle* your stomach (much like powdered ginger...fresh ginger is the opposite to powdered in that aspect). Trust me, a dish high in cayenne will not have you suffering in the bathroom f...
