Re: Challenge Idea
idk... I'm having serious morale issues when it comes to this chappie. I've gone through like three drafts and deleted them all cause they really seemed bad. Maybe #4 will be better...

Re: Challenge Idea
Okay. I know. This is getting riddiculous. I know exactly what I write, but every time I manage to put my words on paper, it looks like :censored: and makes no sense in any language I happen to have passing familiarity with. I think I've arrived at such a block for this chapter that I have no idea h...

Re: What are you...
So, just got back from an exciting trip to Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown that I loved and my brother only put up with (I think) 'cause we let him drive, and I'm actually in a good mood. Despite the fact that we were all sharing the same hotel room since Wends and had to visit my sister on the way ...

Re: What are you...
love the play style of KOTOR 2 better than the original, myself, though you can't beat KOTOR's storyline... Absolutely love Mass Effect though...

Re: Challenge Idea
I seem to be stuck about halfway through it - I'm trying to get it finished before thanksgiving, but the more I work on it, the worse it seems to get... idk, It's driving me crazy, though. So does everything else I seem to try to write.... it's not forgotten though. I'll try to get it decent enough ...

Re: What are you...
Actually, Noah Webster wrote the dictionary. For some reason, I always want to call him Henry, not Noah. But what am I doing? Hanging about because, of course, the shelves we got yesterday to replace the workbench I smashed were tooled wrong, so did not fit together right. And since we have no shel...

Re: What are you...
Blame Webster. He tried to standarize/simplify regular english, and you got american english from the mix. Personally, I prefer british english, which is prob why I use it when I write, but the fact of the patter is that, no matter which version you're using, the spelling makes little/no sense. I me...

Re: The Whine thread.
Um, why the specific holly-hatred? Did the Ilex family do something to your family? Is it like a mafia blood feud thing? 1) they grow everywhere around here. All that we have in this god-forsaken county are long-leaf pines and hollies. 2) there are thousands of different types of hollies - En...

Re: The Whine thread.
I've found in the 11 years I've lived here, the hollies have been fairly consistant. I may hate holly and the whole genus Ilex (including but not limited to it's various crossbreeds and their thousands of cultivars), but it's been consistant on that. Hidieous, ugly things though....

Re: The Whine thread.
Where I live, we get hard snows every 4-7 years, but even a light dusting shuts everything down. It's not worth the money to invest in real snow-removal stuff for the country, so we just shut down when it gets dangerous. Hell, we're almost 200 miles from the coast and occasionally things will shut d...

Re: What are you...
7 days of the week. 7 "sins", 7 "virtues", 7 horcruces (which I contend is the proper plural), 7 books, 7 years at Hogwarts.... 7 is deeply ingrained into the background of western society. I swear, if they'd just made the movie 1/2 hr longer and cut out some of the inanity it wo...

Re: What are you...
...watching?
Saw the new HP movie with my mom today. It was, as expected, kinda a let down, but I'm surprised by how much I was actually bored during it. Granted, I was disapointed with the book itself, but thought the idea would transfer well to movies/video games. Seems I was wrong.

Re: The Whine thread.
aadarshinah, a similar thing happened to me many years ago. It was around Christmas time and I was putting my preschoolers into bed and I went to give my little P. a kiss and I screamed. He had a rope burn around his neck. Very clearly a rope burn. I asked if someone had tried to strangle him. He s...

Re: What are you...
Didn't Miss Possum know she was supposed to play dead? (Did she try?) surprisingly, no. though there were points where she was staring at me and I was sure she was going to lunge and bite me... but Mom was assured by animal control that such an eventuallity would never happen and that possums are e...

Re: The Whine thread.
allergic to orange? That's the most terrible thing I've ever heard... And the thing is I did exactly that (minus the hug, 'cause she was all dressed up for work and I was all, as has been stated, covered in icy-hot). Told her I'd taken too many science classes and watched too many crime/hospital dra...
