Re: Status and Support

Mostly ships appear to cover the vast distances among the stars at, as Rigil Kent once put it, "speed of plot." Yup. Hence the theory about warp highways which I shamelessly ripped off, especially when you do the math and figure out that it's categorically impossible for the NX-01 to have...

Re: The Forge

I totally get that. In my DivPath stuff, I've only just started to consider what happens in my AU season 4, especially in regards to the Kir'Shara thing. That'll definitely be an ... interesting time when I (eventually) get to it...

Except in the Daedalus novel. Granted, not canon (and a pretty bad book, if I recall correctly, but something to consider.

Re: The Forge

If it happened, he should understand her better, really. Of course, Surak is a Vulcan MAN and T'Pol is a Vulcan WOMAN, so maybe not. I think it would be interesting, but hardly the better choice for that episode. I was thinking more along the lines of T'Pol looking at him differently because he was...

Re: The Forge

Dead horse beating aside, would Trip, the character, be happier if he had been the one to carry Surak around, the one being involved in all the diplomatic and political stuff? I don't think that's the kind of stuff that he would find fulfilling. Can you imagine how much more complicated his relation...

Re: The Forge

However it is clear that the basis of the episode is, so to speak again, a definite plan: to make T'Pol stay a little with Archer, in the absence of Trip, and to show the connection existing between the Captain and his First Officer. I think, that all in all, a desire to bring a little ahead the ab...

Re: The Forge

I made no statement about the comparative dangerousness of dry heat vs wet heat. I merely said that being experienced with wet heat would not necessarily make one more tolerant of dry heat. In fact, wet heat is the more physically dangerous of the two. Because the humidity prevents evaporative cool...

Yes, indeed. "That was a threat. Do you see the difference?"

Peter Dinklage is a god amongst men and I love that he has top billing now. 8)

Re: Keeping Trip and T'Pol frest.

HBO? Really?

Er ... why? Violence isn't more than you'd see on FOX and there aren't any NC-17 scenes ...

Guess I should get around to actually writing and publishing some more chapters, huh?

Re: Canon: Fate of Trip and T'Pol unknown

Not to mention, canonically speaking, they're correct. By its definition in Trek, canon is defined as only the things seen on screen in a live action format, which thus excludes books, comics and cartoons. So according to canon, Tucker died in 2161 and his relationship with T'Pol ended shortly after...

Re: CMO Phlox

I was under the impression that Phlox was surprised at Sim's level of sapience. Admittedly, it's been a while since I watched the ep, but I seem to recall being under the impression that he was expecting the symbiont to be little more than the equivalent of vatgrown cloned organs, not a living, thin...

Re: CMO Phlox

In Terra Orime Phlox says to Acher "When YOU asked me to become part of this crew" It seems that Archer asked Phlox to become part of the crew. It is also a valid assumption that Phox by becoming part of the crew assumed Starfleet Regulations. Emphasis mine. You're making an assumption an...

Its actually a bit too hard, IMO. I've never been Archer's number one fan, but fics like this - I call them Bash fics, and ENT isn't the only fandom that does them - generally don't sit well with me because they just feel ... wrong.
