Re: Daily science stuff

Actually I read a book that listed the top best explanations for the Fermi Paradox: If the galaxy has been around for billions of years, why isn't the galaxy colonized by intellegent beings? That is, why don't we have visitors? Turns out the best explanation is that civilizations are short-lived, t...

Re: YouTubes You Just Have to Share With the World...

I've been playing with Augmented Reality for the last few days, but on a much smaller scale. It was pure chance that I stumbled across this after watching Kotik's video:

Re: One useful comment

Can you still switch to other windows using ALT+TAB? I don't know what browser you're using, but it's common to hide the mouse cursor while you're typing into a text field - the problem may be with the browser rather than the mouse. You should also be able to move the focus from the text field to ot...

Re: One useful comment

If the mouse quits on you in the middle of something important, then just about anything that you would normally use the mouse for can be done just using the keyboard. If it does hang up again and assuming you've saved anything important that you were working on, it's worth disconnecting it and wait...

I got my Nürburgring "Jahreskarte" today :happyjump: :happyjump: How did I miss this? Good to find another 'petrolhead' here. I compete in the south of England (I live a few miles away from Silverstone). I've seen lots of videos of people going round the 'ring, but I've nev...

I too applaud your courage in tackling such a horrible problem head-on. I've very much enjoyed your stories and, although I've only joined the forum recently, your contribution here has been thought provoking and entertaining as well. Look after yourself, and I hope you'll stay in touch with the TS ...

Re: One useful comment

I have zero experience of rape in real life, thank god. I can understand how anyone who has had to deal with this first or second hand could be far more sensitive about it, and I respect that. I hope that doesn't mean we all have to bear their scars though. I can think of three separate fanfic stori...

after successfully posting a comment ...

... my original text still appears in the comment box at the bottom of the page. I understand this feature was added recently to make it easier to retry a failed captcha, and I'm grateful for that improvement. But do we also need it when the post succeeded? In a similar vein, it isn't always obvious...
