Re: VOY Haters and Lovers Talk Here!

Well Tom and Trip have quite a bit in common in certain places. Tom however had tenacity. When he wanted something nothing and nobody stood in his way. And he had an intuitive understanding of how to help his woman when she was being her own worst enemy. And when he couldn't like in Extreme Risk , ...

Re: VOY Haters and Lovers Talk Here!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for why I am such a rabid P/Ter here's my post from the "greatest trek experience thread..." It was 1997 and after 3 breathless seasons of cheering on the Federation Starship Voyager I was finally ...

Re: VOY Haters and Lovers Talk Here!

I think I've read every VOY book up to Endgame, except Pathways. I don't know how I missed it. I'll put it on my winter reading list. Like I said I understand that B'Elanna was infatuated with Chakotay. But with the age gap and her past, it isn't a creepy thing, but it's not something that would la...

Re: VOY Haters and Lovers Talk Here!

Okay now about B'Elanna and Chakotay, and "Daddy Complexes." Marchale said that I must think Chakotay is much older than he is. Actually, I don't. B'Elanna was between 21 and 22 years old when Liberty was lost in the Badlands. She was 17 when she entered the Academy, 19 when she left. She...

Re: What are you...

Can I quote the posts in the VOY threads? Because it's reall more appropriate there, and Marchale has the wrong idea about how I view B'Elanna's feelings about Chakotay. Well, it's fine with me if you want to do that, hon - and I apologize if I misunderstood you; like I said earlier, I wasn't tryin...

Re: What are you...

Never cared for Chakoty. Certainly not paired with Torres. Paris and Torres were great together.Chakoty really would not have been a good pairing with anyone on board not even Janeway. Chakoty and 7 of 9 was even wose. Sorry SB Well, to each their own. Personally, I never cared for Janeway at all, ...

Re: What are you...

Very true. But again Chakotay acted like a father. She would get out of line and he would repremand her as 2IC and as a paternal figure. And yes he did make the final push to help her break through her depression. But those were usually extreme cases. For the most part when it was just "the kl...

Re: What are you...

Daddy complexes are not healthy. Besides not even Chakotay would have the guts to tell B'Elanna "you've been spitting venom for days and frankly it's getting boring," I like a relationship where it's okay to get in each other's faces when you see something wrong and go, "hey I love y...

Yeah, I love Voyager too (even though I prefer Enterprise); but while I bear no ill will towards your beloved Tom Paris, I would've much preferred to see B'Elanna end up with Chakotay instead, maybe it's just the Maquis sympathizer in me, :evillol:

Re: What are you...

I'm on vacation. My kids sleep in till noon each day, so I'm using the time to rewatch season 7 of Voyager . My brain is like a seive. I don't remember any of this, so I am on the edge of my seat as each "mystery" unfolds, lol . . . Thoroughly enjoying this. Ahh! There are some advantages...

Re: JustTripn & eK venture into the watery wolfy wilderness!

Wow!!!! I was impressed as hell anyway with your guts to do this trip, ladies - but after seeing how far you's traveled there - while lugging all that stuff on four kayaks, I am in total shock and awe reading your posts about this. :faint: Yeah, I bet between the bioluminescent water and the Milky W...

Re: JustTripn & eK venture into the watery wolfy wilderness!

Loved those pics, Ek - Thank You So Much for posting them, and I'm really dumbfounded to see Ann swimming in the water there (as I was joking with her about bringing plenty of warm clothes and asked her if they sell fleece lined diving suits in case she accidentally fell in the water); but for her t...

Re: Wonky Science: Hybrids in Startrek

Well, even in the same family all sorts of traits can come out. I mean one of my best friends has a white father and an African American mother. Her skin is like a very dark tan, with very curly black hair. Her sister has skin like milk and very curly auburn hair. Her brother has darker skin. So th...

Re: Wonky Science: Hybrids in Startrek

As Warpgirl said, it's most likely that both of his parents had a blue-eyed ancestor somewhere and that his mother was heterozygous for brown eye color. Heterozygous means that a person has two different alleles for the same trait, one from each parent. In the case of a dominant trait the person sh...
