Interesting encounter with Connor Trinneer...

Hello! I've been a bit (lot) scarce, but I wanted to share this rather interesting (and rather bizarre) encounter with Connor Trinneer. First off, let me state by saying that teenaged Connor apparently had a girlfriend named Wendy. How do I know this? Well.... Last weekend I was at the 2014 Stargate...

Re: Does Trip ever call Archer "Jon"?

I tend to see it more like they had a fairly good friendship before Trip was under Archer's command on Enterprise - there are small moments throughout the series where comments/actions suggest (to me, at least) they were closer than just friendly colleagues at some point. However when they got on th...

Re: Does Trip ever call Archer "Jon"?

That was what I had assumed. I've always found it a little odd, especially in the beginning when they tended to showcase a little more often the close, long-standing friendship these two characters had, particularly while hanging out off-duty. Although I suppose it could be argued that the more jovi...

Does Trip ever call Archer "Jon"?

Hi folks, I've been rather scarce lately (work has me on overdrive) but I'm starting to ease back into writing/vidding, which is where this question comes in: In the series, does Trip actually call Archer "Jon", particularly when addressing him directly? My memory just is not what it used ...

Re: One of our own is a published author

Sure was! At least one other person was interested as well, I'll make sure she contacts you. I may have to take you up on that myself. I'll be spending at least part of next week monitoring construction yet again, and you may recall what happened the last time I did that...I think that was the week ...

Re: One of our own is a published author

No prob! A few sounded interested, and I think one of them said she was going to email you about the review option. I'm going to see if I can delve into the first few chapters you have up on the site this weekend.

Re: One of our own is a published author

Great news, good luck! Hopefully one of those other formats will be epub...? If so, let me know when - I'd love to check it out. I forwarded on the info to an email group I'm a part of - a number of the members read what seems like a dozen books a week (most of them have full-time jobs and young chi...

Re: Man of Steel *Warning!!! Spoilers!!!*

I haven't seen it yet. I haven't really been waiting with much anticipation for this one, at least in comparison to some of the others that have come out this year, or will be shortly - Superman was never my "big thing", but I do like the superhero genre, and it does look like a movie I'll...

Re: Status and Support

Damn ;-)

Speaking of which, I never did get around to reading your virtual season 6 and I really want to, so I'm currently re-reading the whole of season 5 to refresh the failing memory...loving it all over again :)

Re: Status and Support

Good luck to both of you, panyasan and Alelou, I feel your pain. With any luck I'll have a new shorty out soon, myself. I actually wrote most of it a couple months back, but I've been sitting on it because I wasn't sure how I felt about it and I wanted to walk away for a bit instead of forcing it ou...

Re: Status and Support

CX, a lot of what you wrote mirrors my own concerns and reservations about people wanting to publish fanfic since the trend really picked up speed a few years ago. I've never been comfortable with it, although the way in which Amazon is going about this makes it a little less questionable in my mind...

Re: Status and Support

I think that's a neat idea, Putaro. I know I'd be interested in checking out something like that, especially if the collection has some minimal quality control requirements. Even if the writing is fine but the story is not to your liking, there is an appeal in not having wasted money on a book you w...

Re: Status and Support

After thinking on it a bit more objectively, I'm more comfortable with this particular endeavour now (I had a *long* work-related drive by myself in the wee hours of this morning...). My main problem was that I was putting this endeavour in the same barrel as the new "pulling fanfic to publish&...

Re: Status and Support

I heard about this today. I tend to get a bit ragey whenever the new trend in "publishing" fanfic comes up (I've mellowed a fair bit - you should have heard me a year ago), but honestly this just confuses me. I get what they're trying to do, I just have no idea how it would work. From what...
