Re: Randomness
With something less than two hours of 2015 left to go on this side of the Pond, may I take the opportunity of wishing everyone on here an extremely happy and prosperous New Year!

Re: Writing
Yes, I'm with Transwarp and Distracted on this one. UK grammar lays down that double quotation marks are for direct speech and single ones are for thoughts, and that works nicely IMHO, but if you're not going to use the single quotation marks then I think it's best to delineate the thought somehow, ...

Re: Writing
If you like a story, review it, as far as I'm concerned. I'll admit that I very rarely check mine here, since I assume that anyone likely to enjoy them has already read them and commented (I do wish there was some form of notification, like there is on ff.net) but other people who write stories more...

Re: Do author's still want reviews on old stories?
As some of you know, I got to fan fiction late. Many of the stories were posted 5 or more years before I read them for the first time and the story reviews and responses were almost as old. I never felt comfortable getting in my two cents, that late in the game. I have also wondered as the current ...

Re: Writing
Writing is the thing that keeps me intellectually alive. It's not easy all the time - sometimes the pages flow out like honey out of a spilled jar, and sometimes getting a paragraph done is like pushing a concrete block uphill. But the important thing to my mind is to keep pushing. Even if you've go...

Re: Randomness
It's listed on IMDB as 'American Odyssey', though here on UK television the 'American' part of it isn't used. This is the link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3551796/ In all honesty I haven't been paying much attention to the story, it's some kind of military conspiracy thing - about Iraq I think. Con...

Re: Randomness
Oh dear, I hadn't thought of it that way, but I'm afraid the resemblance was quite prodigious!

Re: Randomness
Errrhhhh... Well, apart from the fact that filming apparently started half way through the story, that there was no character development whatsoever, that the dialogue was dire, the plot was more full of holes than a Swiss cheese, the English character was a ghastly caricature painted by someone who...

Re: Randomness
I'm wondering if this has been mentioned somewhere else on here or is it something that nobody's going to mention, but has anyone else seen Connor in 'Prey for Death'?

Re: The Whine thread.
It probably isn't much consolation to you right now that she died as she would have wished, but as someone who's gone through something very similar I can tell you that it will be a comfort in the future. There's no replacing our parents and the hole of their absence from our lives is a dreadful thi...

He created a truly iconic figure, and will be gratefully remembered and sadly missed.
