Re: Star Trek 2 / 12
That picture is perfect! It's a little early to be worrying about 3-D when they don't even have a script, isn't it? :vulcan: I seriously hope the people in charge decide to wait until they have a great script before rushing it, betting that we'll just be content with cool 3-D effects. Of course, if ...

Re: Elessar's Numero Uno Drabble Fic
These first two drabbles were great! In just a few words, you both managed to set the mood and cause an emotional response in the reader. I'm surprised that I've never before heard about Hoshi's "fate" according to the Defiant computer. That's really depressing. We should start some ...

Re: Star Trek Fan Survey
She has a blog called Deep Glamour ( http://www.deepglamour.net/ ). It's not one of my usual reads, but it's occasionally linked from another site that I read (instapundit) and there's some interesting stuff there. I'm trying to figure out what her angle might be, too. Does she think we think Star T...

Star Trek Fan Survey
I came across this survey of Star Trek fans: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/439308/Star-Trek-Fans
It's for a book Virginia Postrel is writing on glamor. Be warned - It is extremely long. I used it as a way to show some love for my favorite Star Trek characters and actors.

Re: One useful comment
I think Ulva's comment was directed toward the original discussion ten pages back and not toward the way this particular thread has played out. I've been surprised by how civil this discussion has been, considering the subject matter and the strong opinions involved! Years ago, when Ent was first ai...

Re: One useful comment
While horror isn't my favorite genre, I will occasionally pick up something like a Stephen King novel and really enjoy it. When it comes to Ent fanfic, though, there's a lot that I really, really don't want to read about. I think the difference is that when I pick up a random novel, I don't already ...

Re: T'Pol's Father
I think having T'Pol's father be a Romulan is fine as long as it's not presented as the great, "Oh, This is Why She's Like That" excuse. I thought about making her father a Romulan for the story I'm currently writing, but in the end, I decided to keep her father 100% Vulcan. One reason I d...

Re: Professions
The main professions I can think of like that are the ones where a lot of people telecommute even in our own time, such as writer (fiction, technical writing, columnist, etc.), editor, accountant, and some kinds of legal work (document review, drafting legal briefs, writing wills and contracts, etc....

Re: New Fanfic Up!
I hate to be a pain, but I just found out that on the drop down menu of my story "Beginnings," it says chapter 14 instead of chapter 1. Can someone fix that for me?
