Re: New Fanfic Up: 2011 Edition!

Truth be told, I can't make anyone look bad. Look how long it took me to get these chapters done!

Thanks, Enterprikayak.

My 1st ever attempt to post a story is here with Crystalswolf's Opposition, which belongs to her A Day in the Life series.

Read it! Read it! It's good!

I feel honored that my story is your first post and all's well. And thanks! :D

Re: The Happy News thread

Just the chance of seeing any of them is a great thing. Mmm, Jude Law. I was never a big fan of him when he was younger but as he ages he just gets better looking! I'm also a big fan of Matt Damon and Lawrence Fishburn.

Re: Abandoned stories

Most times I don't cast until mid-way or afterward. Then I try to find the actor/actress that comes closest to what I had in mind. Some I had found quickly and some I'm still searching for one.

Wow, Aikiweezie. Congrats! That movie has quite a list of names. Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Lawrence Fishburn. Wow.

Re: Abandoned stories

SB, the point (at least my point) was that it's okay if you're okay with someone using your material. But not all authors would feel that way and their reactions could be anywhere from a casual shrug to cursing you out for just suggesting. Also that no one should take for granted that their reaction...

Re: Abandoned stories

Okay, after thinking about it, I felt the need to add this in. It almost feels as though there is the idea that if someone does not guard their stories fiercely, they were never really serious about it in the first place. As one of these people, just because I would allow (meaning my explicit permis...

Re: Abandoned stories

The Original VLI was founded by a man who got so into the Vulcan language he actually wrote and got a book published, since as far as I know you can't publish a book about anything to do with ST (other than biographies of cast and crew) without TPTB's consent. They had to have authorized the book. ...

Re: Abandoned stories

TPTB authorized? I must have missed that. From what I remember when I read the author's reason for creating the language was because there was very little interest in the Vulcan language. TPTB were more interested in Klingon which is why they hired someone to flesh out that language. I think I even ...

Re: Abandoned stories

I think what it boils down to is that each author will have a different reaction when even broaching the subject. Personally, I have no problem with someone continuing one of my stories so long as permission is obtained first , dead or alive. If I don't like their interpretation, I would chalk it up...

I loved Dark Angel too once they hit their stride. But I have to ask, what did you think of the movie version of "Mists of Avalon" compared to the book?
