Re: Abandoned stories

Alelou , Mueller is Lady Rainbow's ... Well, more accurately she has a character named Mueller . There are instances where people randomly pick the same name to give a character. That happened to you and Kotik remember? His Rao and your Rao were not the same . Actually, I saw the name T'Rai in a fi...

Re: New Fanfic Up!

My latest chappie has the opposite problem. I've lost all my bold, italics, etc.

Should I hand-code and resend to you guys? I can do that if I have to. :?

I'm 6 hours away from D.C. and I've got relatives there.

SIGH. It'd be nice to meet someone from the board.

Of course, for that time she was still pretty remarkable.

Yeah, she was. I know it was the times, but Uhura definitely knew her stuff, and her presence on the bridge was a first!

Hoshi's role on board the ship, as linguist and comm officer

Hoshi's trained as a linguist: i.e. she translates languages into Standard English and assists with unfamiliar cultures and mores. So I see her using APPLIED linguistics (she uses her training to teach and to deal with real-life situations, often spur-of-the-moment.). There are many DIFFERENT branch...

Re: BREAKING! Jolene had a baby!

My thoughts too. Privacy. When I was a new mother, my world shrank to me and the baby. I didn't want anyone interfering with that early bonding experience. I almost had to be forced to "share" the baby. Had sharp twinges of panic if she was out of my sight for more than a few minutes. And...

Re: Malcolm's British Education

His family did spend some time in Malaysia... anyone know why? Retired, or military base there, or what? And, if so, does this mean there might've been a local, British-esque school held over from the colonial days he might've gone to? Maybe...he could have. Malaysia is still a Commonwealth Nation....

Re: Malcolm's British Education

If Malcolm went to a posh British school, my money would be on the military academy at Sandhurst. Given the Reed family's Royal Naval tradition, I'd think this would be a sure bet. If Stuart Reed graduated from Sandhurst, I can definitely see him sending Malcolm there too. On that line, it wouldn't...

I'm thinking we should figure out a way to put all our Reeds into a cage fight of some kind. :guffaw: That would beat a UFC show any day! :vulcan: Hmmm.... perhaps we have another round robin idea here.... :raspberry: That would be cool...some interdimensional collector decides he/she/it ...

Re: Kind of wife TPol would be?

I'm firmly in the women in patriarchal power structures found ways to influence things, but it's not better, not equal and not admirable. Just because it's women stoning adulteresses to death or mutilating their daughter's genitals, doesn't make it somehow right or okay or not a gender issue. Ask t...

Re: ENT Tech

I'm reading the Honor Harrington novels, and that's how plausible space battles should be done. It's shock full of tracking systems, point defence weapons, counter measures, sidewall "shield" defences... And they do right by the acceleration/deceleration vector changes in space as well. G...

Re: Kind of wife TPol would be?

Just a thought... Maybe in pre-Surak times, when Vulcan was still embroiled in war, that women were the "power behind the throne", so to speak? The society may have been patriarchal, but women still had considerable influence? I can see it in many Earth cultures (like ancient China) where ...
