I stand on Vulcan
In the sands of my true home
Yet I feel sorrow

Control, close to gone
I shall soon do my duty
And break his heart

I stand on Vulcan
In the sands of my true home
Yet I feel alone

This is for mother
I brought this upon her
Now I will help her

I stand on Vulcan
In the sands of my true home
Yet I want Charles

He who I can’t have
He who will likely hate me
He who I care for

I stand on Vulcan
In the sands of my true home
Yet I want to cry

Koss has rung the gong
The ritual will now begin
And my hope is lost

I stand on Vulcan
In the sands of my true home
Yet I shall defy

He is there for me
I watch his heart break silently
We share a chaste kiss

I stand on Vulcan
Embarking on my duty
But I’m not alone

Just for clarification, my coment was meant for your story "Elizabeth", but they're all good. only one has 47 words, though, lol.;)

This was one poem, those 47 words really got me square in the heart. nice job.

Don't know how I missed this one. The murder of beloved innocents is indeed a galvanizing beacon.
